Zirconia Hoop Earrings: A Stone Row or a Drop?
Compare Vela’s clear accent row with Petra’s rectangular green drop, then check inside diameter, finish and what each pair includes.
When choosing zirconia hoop earrings, start with where you want the accent to sit. A row of stones keeps the detail along the hoop itself. A drop places a separate focal shape below it. Vela and Petra show these two arrangements in current Reef & Rose designs.
Vela: a clear accent row along the hoop
The Vela Tiny Gold Hoop Earrings have round clear accents arranged down the front of each hoop. The stones follow the curve, so the decorated section stays within the hoop's outline. Choose this arrangement if you prefer a continuous line of detail without a separate hanging element.

Vela's current listing identifies zirconia accents and gives an approximate 13 mm outside diameter and 8 mm inside diameter. It is sold as a pair, with Gold and Silver options. The outside measurement describes the overall hoop; the inside measurement describes its opening.
Petra: a rectangular green drop below a plain hoop
The Petra Sea Sparkle Earrings put the focal detail below the hoop. Their current Gold product photograph shows a polished hoop with a green rectangular accent suspended from a small connecting ring. This adds an angular shape and a point of colour beneath the rounded hoop.

Petra's current listing identifies rectangular zirconia accents, an approximate 10 mm hoop inside diameter, 2 mm hoop thickness and a 6 × 3 mm rectangular stone. It is sold as a pair in Gold or Silver. The stone measurement is not the full earring height, and the 10 mm figure is an inside measurement rather than an outside diameter.
Choose the arrangement you want to notice
- A repeated line: Vela repeats clear round accents along the front curve.
- A separate shape: Petra combines a rounded hoop with a rectangular drop.
- A colour detail: the Petra Gold photograph shows green, while Vela's shown accents are clear.
- A particular opening: compare Vela's listed 8 mm inside diameter with Petra's 10 mm inside diameter, then check the fit you need.
Neither size guarantees the same fit on every ear; piercing position and the individual earlobe affect how a hoop sits. Use our earring size guide when reading the measurements. The product photographs use different magnifications, so do not judge which pair is larger from the displayed pictures alone.
For styling, compare each pair with the necklace or other earrings you plan to wear. Vela offers detail around the circle; Petra adds a shape below it. Try the visual arrangement you prefer rather than treating one style as restricted to a particular occasion. Our earring styling guide covers coordination in more detail.
Check the material label and finish separately
Both current listings identify zirconia accents. A green colour does not establish that a stone is emerald, and a clear accent should not be assumed to be diamond. Our cubic zirconia guide explains the material terminology. Read the product listing for the selected design rather than assigning a gemstone from its colour.
Gold and Silver are separately selected finish options for each pair. Check the chosen colour and current product photographs before ordering. Browse the earrings collection to compare these arrangements with plain, textured and pearl-accented styles.
Zirconia hoop questions
Does a zirconia hoop have to have a row of stones?
No. These examples place accents differently: Vela carries a row on the hoop, while Petra carries a rectangular drop below it.
Can I compare the 13 mm Vela figure directly with Petra's 10 mm figure?
Those figures describe different measurements. Vela's 13 mm is its outside diameter; Petra's 10 mm is its inside diameter. Use matching measurement types when comparing openings or overall sizes.
Are these sold singly or as pairs?
Both current product listings say a pair of two earrings. Choose the finish on the relevant product page and check its current details before adding it to your bag.
