Turtle Necklace Guide: Celine or Malia?

Compare a coloured turtle pendant with a shell-and-turtle charm cluster, using close-up photos and current Celine and Malia listing details.

Choosing a turtle necklace? Start with the pendant detail you like: a coloured centre within one turtle-shaped pendant, or a small turtle paired with a white shell-shaped charm. The Celine and Malia necklaces give these two different interpretations of an ocean motif.

Celine: a turtle pendant with a coloured centre

The Celine Opal Turtle Necklace has a turtle-shaped pendant with a simulated-opal centre. In the gold-tone photograph below, blue-green colour fills the central oval, with the turtle's head and flippers forming the surrounding outline. Small spaced details also appear along the chain.

Celine centres the colour inside a single turtle-shaped pendant; Gold is pictured.

The current listing gives the pendant as approximately 17 mm high × 12 mm wide. Celine is offered in Gold and Silver options, so select the finish you want on the product page. The listing describes the centre as simulated opal; keep that description in mind when comparing it with other jewellery labelled opal.

Malia: separate shell and turtle charms

The Malia Turtle Pendant Necklace combines two shapes at the centre of the chain: a white cowrie-shaped shell and a gold-tone turtle. The close-up shows their separate attachment loops and the textured pattern across the turtle.

Malia pairs a white shell-shaped charm with a separate gold-tone turtle.

Malia's current listing gives the shell-and-turtle charm cluster as approximately 25 × 12 mm. That measurement describes the cluster, rather than the individual turtle. Its current finish option is Gold. Choose this design if the combination of the white shell shape and metal turtle is the detail you want.

What do the necklace lengths tell you?

Both current listings give a 45 cm chain with a 5 cm extender. Those figures let you compare the chain length with a necklace you already wear. Pendant shapes and attachment points are separate details to consider when you look at the complete design.

Use a flexible measuring tape or an existing necklace to check your preferred length, following the steps in our necklace length and layering guide. The photographs here are close-ups for seeing construction; use the listed dimensions when judging size.

Three choices to make before ordering

  • Choose the focal detail. Celine puts blue-green colour inside the turtle outline; Malia places a white shell shape next to a textured turtle.
  • Choose the finish. Compare Celine's Gold and Silver selections if metal colour is your priority. Malia currently offers Gold.
  • Check the complete listing. Review the current pendant or cluster dimensions, chain length and fastening photographs, then confirm the selected option before adding it to your bag.
