Spring Racing Jewellery: Coordinate Earrings and Headwear
Compare smooth hoops, round drop earrings and a flat bracelet as you coordinate race-day headwear, your neckline and finishing details.
Choose spring racing jewellery with your complete outfit in front of you, including any hat, fascinator or headband you plan to wear. Look at the space around your ears and neckline, then decide where you want the jewellery detail to sit. Earrings can sit alongside the headwear, while a bracelet can bring a separate finishing detail to the wrist.
Check the guidance for your event and booked area
Before planning the look, read the current dress guidance from your venue or organiser. The Victoria Racing Club’s What to Wear page separates guidance for General Public, Members Enclosure, and Corporate Hospitality & Dining at Flemington. Follow the section relevant to your booking rather than treating one area’s guidance as a rule for every racegoer. If you are entering a fashion competition, read its entry requirements separately.
Try a smooth hoop beside detailed headwear
If your headpiece has noticeable flowers, loops or other detail near the face, try a simpler earring outline first. The Vienna Classic Hoop Earrings in Mini Gold provide a smooth, rounded shape. Put your hair and headwear in place, then check whether you like that curved detail beside them.

Vienna Mini lists a 14 mm outside diameter and 9 mm inside diameter. Medium and Large are separate size options. Use the measurements for the option you select; the product photograph illustrates the design rather than a life-size comparison. Our earring size guide explains the two diameter measurements.
Try a drop when you want detail below the hoop
With simpler headwear, or when you want earrings to be a more noticeable part of the look, compare a drop shape. The Rhea Sparkle Drop Earrings combine plain hoops with clear round drops beneath them. The extra shape sits below the hoop rather than decorating its whole curve.

Rhea’s current listing identifies zirconia accents, an approximate 8 mm hoop inside diameter and a 2 mm hoop thickness. The inside diameter describes the opening, not the full drop length. Both Vienna and Rhea are sold as pairs.
Try your earrings with the headwear rather than assuming a drop must accompany a particular hat. Check front and side views, and turn your head as you normally would. If a brim, ribbon or your hair brushes the earrings, adjust the combination until it feels comfortable.
Bring a separate detail to the wrist
If your headwear and neckline already have the detail you want, a bracelet gives you another place to finish the outfit. The Tallulah Herringbone Bracelet has a flat, closely arranged chain pattern. Try it with your sleeve and any watch you plan to wear, then decide whether one wrist piece is enough.

Tallulah currently lists an approximate 16 cm length plus a 4 cm extender and a 4 mm chain width. Check wrist fit separately using the bracelet size guide; chain width does not tell you the length around your wrist.
Make the necklace decision with the actual neckline
Try a necklace after putting on the earrings, headwear and outfit. With an open neckline, you may enjoy another detail at the neck. With a decorated or higher neckline, you may prefer to leave that space as it is. Neither approach is compulsory. Our necklace length and layering guide can help you compare placement if you decide to add one.
Check the complete combination before choosing
- Try the headwear, hairstyle, jewellery, bag and outfit together.
- Check the front and side views and move naturally.
- Confirm the exact earring size or bracelet fit you need.
- Select the finish on each product page; the three examples here currently offer Gold and Silver.
For hairstyle and neckline ideas beyond race day, see our earring styling guide. If you are deciding between finishes, use the Gold or Silver guide. Browse earrings and bracelets to compare current designs, then check their product-specific options before adding them to your bag.
