How to Build an Ear Stack with Two Earring Pairs

Combine two earring pairs thoughtfully, with Jolie and Vela examples, clear quantity checks and a guide to comparing their measurements.

An ear stack combines two or more earrings on one ear. If you already wear earrings in two lobe piercings, you can build a look around two different pairs: one earring from each pair on each ear. Start with the styles you enjoy, then check the quantities, measurements and space between your existing earrings.

Choose one detail to lead the look

A drop, a coloured accent or a textured hoop can become the focal detail. Keep the second shape simpler if you want that detail to stand out. You can also repeat a finish across different shapes for a coordinated combination.

REEDS’ ear-stacking guide describes combining hoops, huggies and drops, and using a consistent metal tone or gemstone colour to connect different silhouettes. Treat that as a styling option, rather than a fixed formula for every ear.

A drop-and-hoop combination to compare

The Jolie Pearl Huggie Hoops provide a drop detail below a small hoop. Their current listing specifies freshwater pearl drops with polished bead details, an approximate total drop of 24–27 mm and a hoop outside diameter of 13–15 mm.

The Vela Tiny Gold Hoop Earrings have a row of clear zirconia accents along the front. Their listing gives an approximate outside diameter of 13 mm and an inside diameter of 8 mm. They offer a different outline from a hanging drop.

Both designs currently offer Gold and Silver options. You could compare the same finish in each, or use our mixed-metal styling guide for a combination of tones.

Check the whole combination, not just one measurement

Jolie’s total drop and Vela’s inside diameter describe different parts of the earrings. They are not interchangeable measurements. Our earring-size guide explains how to read them.

Use earrings you already comfortably wear as a reference. Look at the space between their outlines and behind the ear, including the closures. A listed hoop diameter alone cannot establish how two pairs will sit together on your particular piercings. If a product detail you need is missing, ask our team before choosing.

Count pairs before checkout

Jolie and Vela are each sold as a pair, rather than as single earrings. Ordering one pair of each gives you four earrings: enough to use one of each design on each ear if you have two suitable existing piercings per ear. These are separate products, not a combined ear-stack set.

  • Choose the components: decide which detail leads and which shape supports it.
  • Check each selection: confirm the finish and the quantity on both product pages.
  • Review your existing layout: compare the dimensions and closures with earrings you already wear.
